Born on the south coast of England, spoken word artist Jane Ormerod now lives in New York City. Originally a painter, Jane switched to writing and performance as a result of a bet. A CD “Nashville Invades Manhattan” was released in 2007 and Jane’s work can also be found in numerous US and UK publications such as Dirt, Arsenic Lobster, Failbetter and Unpleasant Event Schedule.

With a fiercely mesmerizing stage manner, Jane reels in the audience with dark, surreal, yet sometimes humorous, wordplay. In January 2007, she toured the west coast – from Vancouver, Canada, to San Jose – with Lisa Dewey as part of the Perpetual Motion Roadshow. In New York Jane has performed at venues including Galapagos Art Space, The Stone, Bowery Poetry Club, and The Cornelia Street Café.
