Despite just breaking into the scene in 2006 year with the release of their debut album, Her Brilliant Fifteen, The Motion Sick has already garnered substantial national press highlighted by several mentions in SPIN magazine including the half-page honor of being selected as "band of the month" as a result of an initial "band of the day" feature on SPIN.com and a track in a "Spin Essential Mix – Music You Need to Download Now!" The album has received airplay and charting (including several CMJ Top 30 #1s) on dozens of college and commercial stations nationwide including several prominent Boston stations: WFNX, WBCN, WERS, WMFO, and WMBR.

The band is currently in the studio recording a follow-up record, which will be released by Naked Ear Records in September 2007.
